A face-to-face program was held with the beneficiaries of Housing for All, PM Awas Yojana at Gurjada Kalakshetra. Union and State Housing Ministers Harideep Singh Puri, Jogi Ramesh, MP MVV and MLC Madhav participated in this.
On this occasion, Union Housing Minister said, "Prime Minister Modi's idea is to have a house for all the deserving people. Central and state governments are jointly building a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana." 22 million people in urban areas need houses. We have sanctioned 22 lakh houses in AP. The Andhra Pradesh government has asked for an additional one. I will work hard to provide it," he said. Minister Jogi Ramesh said that CM Jaganmohan Reddy's goal is to provide houses to all the deserving people. He said that Jagan will get the credit of giving house titles to 30 lakh people.
As part of Navaratna's Houses for All Poor programme, distribution of house titles will be done by the Chief Minister in Agrahar of Sabbavaram mandal Paidivada will leave Tadepalli at 9.20 am and reach Paidivada in Sabbavaram mandal at 10.40 am. After that, the Chief Minister will address the people. After that, the certificates and housing scheme grant documents will be distributed. After the program, they will reach Visakhapatnam airport at 1.20 pm and reach Tadepalli residence at 2.25 pm. No matter how much Jagananna's house is found in Tirupati district, there is no trace of it.
In the first phase, 66,000 houses were sanctioned, but after 18 months, only 1051 houses have been completed. Another 6500 houses are in the roof stage. Of the remaining 58,457 houses, more than 45,000 are at the foundation stage, while the construction of another 12,860 houses has not started. Under the first phase of the Pakka Houses for All Poor scheme, the government has sanctioned 66,098 Pakka Houses in December 2020. On the 28th of the same month, CM Jagan formally distributed the house titles to the beneficiaries in Orandur, Srikalahasti mandal. The foundation stone for the construction of pucca houses was also laid there. It has been a year and a half since this happened. It is not an exaggeration to say that the construction of 1051 houses has been technically completed across the district but not a single house has been completed. Most of the beneficiaries are not showing interest in the land given by Patta as the area is very small. Also, the layouts allocated in relation to the municipal towns including Tirupati city are far away and there is no infrastructure, so no one is willing to go there and build houses. On the other hand, due to the shortage of sand and the price of construction materials, the amount provided by the government is not enough for the beneficiaries.

The progress of pucca houses is bad
Officials say that the construction of 53238 houses has been started out of the 66098 houses sanctioned in the first phase and the construction of the remaining 12860 houses has not yet started. The construction of 1051 houses has been completed out of 53 thousand houses that officials say have started. Another 6500 houses have been completed up to the walls and roof stages. Excluding these two categories, 33296 houses are only at the foundation stage. Foundations of another 12307 houses have been completed. That means 70 percent of the sanctioned houses are crumbling at the foundation stage. Another 20 percent houses have not been started. Only ten percent of the houses have progressed beyond the foundation stage. It is noteworthy that all these are official calculations. For construction of sanctioned houses in the district Rs. 1189.76 crores has been estimated by the government. Out of which the cost of the constructions undertaken so far is only Rs. 175.32. crores. It means that only 14.75 percent of the funds allotted to the district for the construction of pucca houses have been spent so far.
The situation in these mandals is worse
16108 Pakka houses have been sanctioned for Tirupati Urban Mandal. Construction of 11440 houses started but not a single house was completed. Construction of 4668 houses has not started yet. These are the figures given by the officials. In fact, if we look at the field level, it is estimated that the number of houses without construction will double. In Erravaripalem mandal, 1510 houses have been sanctioned and construction of only 130 houses has started. At least one house in this mandal has not been completed. In Srikalahasti Mandal, 5788 houses have been sanctioned and construction of 3188 houses has started. While 94 houses have been completed, the construction of 2600 houses has not yet started.
