The party representatives informed the Chief Electoral Officer that giving Aadhaar is voluntary but in practice they are using the mechanism to make it mandatory and it is not right to take it down to the lower level and start implementing it without fully discussing it at the state level. He asked to continue the system of 11 types of identity cards currently in force for voter identification. Vijay Ramaraju and JC Saikanth Verma held a meeting with the representatives of political parties in his chamber in the Collectorate on Tuesday. He said that the state governments are doing intense exercises. In this order, the process of linking voters' lists with Aadhaar numbers has already started across the country from the 1st of this month.

It is said that more than 99% of the citizens in the state have already received Aadhaar identity cards, and even if anyone does not have Aadhaar identity card.. He said that the government is providing an opportunity to register the name as a voter with ten types of recognized verification documents like Indian passport, pension document with photograph, service identity card with photograph, official identity card, unique identity card, etc.
Representatives of political parties should encourage people to use this opportunity to correct differences in their names, family members' names, age and address through this Aadhaar linking process.

The Government of India has set up several call centers in various states of the country to link Aadhaar voter ID cards over the phone. He said there is a facility where voters can call 1950 number and upload their Voter ID details along with Aadhaar number.
The representatives of the political parties should make people aware of the fact that voter IDs can be linked with Aadhaar through the portal maintained by the Election Commission, by sending SMS and over the phone. Apart from that, the booth level officers will collect all the information of the voters and link the Aadhaar card with the voter ID card.
The representatives of the parties should play a major role in organizing awareness camps from time to time to provide this facility to the people under their jurisdiction. According to the new rules of the Election Commission, it is possible to identify those who have completed 18 years of age four times in a year and register their names in the voter list. According to that, if you turn 18 years of age before the 1st of January as well as April, July and October, you can register your name in the voter list on the NVSP portal.
