Verification of applications for double bedroom houses in Greater has been completed. The records will soon be sent to the revenue officers of the greater area districts. However, the Baldia officials set aside 40 percent of the applications as they could not find the applicants in the verification. Out of the 7 lakh 10 thousand applications received in the greater area, verification of nearly 3 lakh applications was not done. Voter ID card and community details of more than 4 lakh applicants have been included in the app. GHMC is constructing one lakh double bedroom houses in 111 areas in the greater area. In this, 9,828 houses were constructed in 49 slum areas and 90,172 houses were constructed in 68 vacant lots. So far more than 4 thousand houses have been provided to the beneficiaries in 23 areas. However, from 2017 to 2019, when the Baldia staff went to the homes of those who had applied, the applicants were not available.

However, Baldia has not been able to collect the details of the unavailable persons till date. Will there be any other option for non-verification applicants? Or? Officials are not giving clarity on the matter. It seems that the verification of double houses has been completed. The verified files will be sent to the revenue authorities soon. After that, the revenue officials will get down to the task of identifying the eligible beneficiaries. While the verification of more than 4 lakh applications has been completed, only 15 percent of them are likely to be given houses.

It is in this context that how the beneficiaries are selected has become a topic of discussion. Identification of beneficiaries has also become a challenge. If one gets houses and the other doesn't, there will be opposition to the government. In this context, it seems that there is a possibility of delay in the selection process of the beneficiaries. Applications for double bedroom houses were received manually in the collector offices as well as in the GHMC office. But since the applications are coming in a lot, the officials suggested to apply through Meeseva Kendras. But earlier more than one lakh applications were received manually. But, in the verification conducted by GHMC, only the applications received through Meeseva Kendras are included. No manual applications. Officials also say that there is no possibility of getting houses for them.
